Semen Analysis

A careful quantitative and qualitative examination of your semen is the foundation upon which your male infertility evaluation is built upon. The volume, the viscosity, the color and the pH of the semen is determined. Then using a microscope, a drop of the semen is examined to count all the sperm within it.

IVF/ICSI

For severe male factor infertility or men with no sperm in their ejaculates, In Vitro Fertilization with Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection may be an option for our couples. In order to provide you with the most comprehensive care available Dr. Kuang has teamed up with the Center of Reproductive Medicine of New Mexico who offer state-of-the-art care for IVF/ICSI and other Assisted Reproductive Technologies. For some, IVF is a viable alternative to vasectomy reversals.

Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine

Robert Nuttall, Doctor of Oriental Medicine, in conjunction with Wayne Kuang, M.D., and the Southwest Fertility Center for Men, has established an acupuncture treatment plan for male infertility. The protocol is based on both ancient and modern sources. It is a weekly treatment that takes about thirty minutes. After ten treatments, progress markers for sperm condition are then reassessed by doctors at SFCM.

Dr Nuttall also performs a pre-retrieval in-vitro fertility (IVF) acupuncture protocol for enhancing embryo transfer success rates in women.

Dr Nuttall is licensed by the New Mexico Board of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, and certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Alexandria, Virginia. He is a primary healthcare provider covered by most insurances, including Presbyterian, Lovelace, Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare, Cigna ,and others.

At the Southwest Fertility Center for Men, Dr. Kuang supports the use of alternative medicine such as acupuncture to help optimize your reproductive potential.
